Photography was the utmost importance to Stephanie and Scott – and we truly had an absolutely amazing time getting to know them. We first met over Skype, instantly connected (pun intended), then had a blast photographing their engagement session in NYC. They’re incredibly sweet and madly-in-love… and we’re so, so glad to be able to call them our friends.
At the wedding, Stephanie’s mom told us that the wedding location meant a lot. She used to take Stephanie to the Peconic River Herb Farm when she was a young girl and it was one of her favorite spots. There’s so much beauty there and it has such a calm feel.
Stephanie shared some of her insight behind their big day: “Our favors were ginger-molasses cookies baked by my mother-in-law and the table numbers were wire-wrapped by one of our friends. The decor on the entry table and any live plant material was all sourced from the farm. We incorporated the idea to put mason jars on the trees from the couple that got married at the site before us, but tweaked it by standing the candles in salt. The dried flower centerpieces and bouquets were from Flores del Sol on Etsy. They’re still beautiful and I consider them heirloom pieces.”
Also, a big thank you goes to Style Me Pretty for featuring their wedding today.
I was simply in LOVE with her dried bouquet from Flores del Sol!
“Scott and I were very excited to do a First Look. We had stayed with many of our friends in the days leading up to the wedding and didn’t have a lot of private time. After running around like crazy getting ready before the wedding, it was so wonderful to have a private moment before all of the happy-chaos to just be together and enjoy each other’s company alone. It also allowed us to calm any pre-wedding jitters and get in as many hugs and hand-holds as possible. There was still plenty of excitement when we saw each other down the aisle, and seeing each other beforehand did not detract from how magical that moment was. We love that we got to see each other in our full wedding regalia before the rest of our guests did – it’s this special moment we’ll always have, just the two of us.”
They saw each other for the first time and proceeded to have a moment filled with yoga movements and calm breathing. It was something so cute, quirky, and truly “them.”
