From Kristen: “When we met, Rick was stationed in Puerto Rico and I was living in Philadelphia. Needless to say, we fell in love on the beautiful blue waters and gorgeous beaches of Isla Verde throughout the first year of dating. Because of this and our absolute love for the water and beach, we knew we needed to get married at a waterfront location. The weather was great, and we were surrounded by all the wonderful people we love so dearly.
My inspiration for our wedding began with bridal magazines bought for me on my engagement day from my Maid of Honor and bridesmaid. I found this gorgeous picture of a navy and fuchsia wedding, and I just kept going back to it. All of my bridesmaid have such different personalities and interests so it seemed to be a no brainer to have a unique style of dress to suit each of them. I found my dress during a trip to Uniontown, PA near my hometown at a friend of a friend’s prom shoppe. I had gone to numerous places and, although it was originally 8 sizes too big, I knew it had everything I wanted for my wedding dress. Rick always made me melt when he wore his uniform so that too was a non-negotiable for me and something Rick wanted as well. It was such an honor to have all of his Coast Guard buddies as groomsmen and ushers, and I must say it made for some great eye candy.”

We absolutely love when couples choose to do a “First Look.”
Kristen approached Rick from behind and asked (with a huge grin on her face), “Would you like to see me now?“

We love being able to capture the true emotions of a couple, while keeping our distance.
Kristen and Rick were able to have a nice, relaxed, personal moment to talk with each another.
They were able to let their emotions flow (without all of their guests watching them) and calm any wedding-day-jitters.

I photographed Kristen’s bridal session with two beautiful parasols, so we figured it would be perfect for the wedding day as well!

I love the following photograph of the flower girls, dropping petal down the aisle (photo credit totally goes to Chad).

During the school year, Kristen is an 8th Grade Math Teacher. Her students compiled a hilarious board of “marital advice” for her.
During the summer months, Kristen works at a wedding planning company. Can you tell at all? =)

One of our favorite cakes of all time. Super cute and made entirely of delicious cake balls!
